Turning NHDC's information-heavy website into a clearer digital gateway for vendors, stakeholders, and the wider handloom ecosystem.
Why NHDC needed a change
A lot of useful information. Too much effort to find it.
- NHDC's website had grown into a dense ecosystem of tenders, schemes, exhibitions, announcements, forms, regional offices and organizational information.
- The information itself was valuable to vendors and stakeholders; the challenge was how it was organized, prioritized and presented.
- For vendors, particularly those accessing the website from smaller cities and varied digital contexts, finding critical information such as tenders, announcements, regional offices and forms often required navigating through multiple layers.
- This lack of discoverability contributed to a higher bounce rate, creating a business impact for both sides, vendors could miss relevant opportunities, while NHDC risked losing engagement with its stakeholders.
The redesign was about reducing the effort required to understand and act on it.

Solution was making information easier to find
With the core problem identified, I focused on reorganizing the website around the information users were most likely to need.
Instead of treating every section of the website with equal importance, the redesign introduced a clearer hierarchy, bringing high-value actions forward, restructuring dense information, and making important content easier to scan.
I. Starting with what users came looking for
- The homepage had valuable real estate in the hero, but the previous experience primarily used it for imagery.
